Zooply Cardboard Shreds Mix is an eco-friendly bedding of shredded brown cardboard mixed with pieces of egg carton for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice and other rodents (also suitable for long-haired animals). Thanks to the loose mix, droppings sink to the bottom, keeping the surface clean and dry for longer. Cardboard Shreds Mix absorbs up to 5 times as much moisture as wood fibre and 2 times as much as hemp, and is very suitable for long-haired animals and rats. Apply a layer of about 5-6 cm so the whole floor is covered. The product is compostable and may go with food/garden waste.

For rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas, a layer of about 5 cm as a base layer is enough. Hamsters, gerbils and degus love to dig: give these animals at least 15-20 cm (Syrian hamsters preferably 25-30 cm) so real tunnels can form and stay intact. For mice, 10-15 cm is a good guideline. For rats, a layer of about 5 cm is sufficient as a base floor; if you want to set up a separate digging box, it can certainly be deeper.
