Plum Leaf is a popular herb among rabbits and guinea pigs, with a slightly crunchy texture and soft smell. You can give it in two ways: mixed through the hay, so the hay becomes more appealing and your pet actively forages through it, or simply offered loose as a quick extra. Both ways are fine — it mostly depends on what you and your pet enjoy most.

Rabbits and guinea pigs can have plum leaf daily as an addition alongside hay and staple food. Mix a small handful through the hay so your pet has to search, or give it loose as a quick treat — both are a good way to add variety.
For these species, plum leaf is mainly enrichment, not daily nutrition. Sprinkle a small amount in the enclosure or hide it in a sniffing spot, so your pet can exercise its natural searching behaviour.
Plum Leaf can also be given to degus and chinchillas as a small addition, loose or mixed through the hay. Keep the amount small and let hay remain the main part of the diet.
How much may I give?
A general guideline is 1 handful of herbs per day per animal — a total across all your herbs combined. Introduce plum leaf gently: start with a small amount and build it up slowly, and watch your pet's droppings during the first few days.
