Selective Guinea Pig is a complete, balanced food for guinea pigs. All ingredients are pressed together into one nugget. Your guinea pig therefore cannot pick out only the tastiest bits, as often happens with a mixed food. Every bite contains the same nutrients.
Guinea pigs cannot produce vitamin C themselves, so they need it from their food every day. This food contains 800 mg of added vitamin C per kilo. Alfalfa (15%) provides fibre and protein, and linseed supplies omega 3 and 6. Dandelion, fennel and nettle complete the recipe. No sugars are added.
Hay remains the basis of the diet. Offer unlimited fresh hay next to the nuggets, because chewing hay matters most for wearing down teeth. Add fresh vegetables such as bell pepper every day and always provide fresh drinking water. The right daily amount of nuggets is stated on the bag.
Switching from another food? Mix Selective into the old food gradually over one to two weeks. This lets your guinea pig's digestion get used to it calmly. The large 10 kg bag is practical if you keep several guinea pigs.
