The plush basket Bunny in size M is the roomy version of this cheerful Duvo+ bed. You recognise it straight away by its two bunny ears. The basket is made of soft plush and has a removable cushion. Together that creates a cosy nest feeling. For a guinea pig or a few rats, this is a lovely place to curl up and rest.
Guinea pigs love lying soft. You often see them stretched out on a tuft of hay or in a corner with a soft base. A plush basket gives them that comfort in a fixed spot. Rats look for the warmth of each other and of soft materials. They like to crawl into a basket in twos or threes and form a warm huddle.
Put the basket in a quiet, dry spot in the enclosure. With guinea pigs, a place next to the hay rack works well: they can lie quietly and grab some hay in between. Do not put it where your animals do their business. With rats, you can also put the basket on a roomy level, as long as it stands steadily there. Keep the basket indoors, on a firm layer of bedding.
At 24 × 24 × 24 cm, this is a nice size for one guinea pig. For rats it is roomy too: two or three rats can lie in it together. If you keep guinea pigs in pairs, as you should, provide a second resting or hiding spot. Plush is fabric. So keep an eye on whether your pet chews the basket or swallows bits of fabric. If you see that, take the basket away.

Usually not at the same time; the basket is meant for one guinea pig. Guinea pigs each want their own spot. So put a second basket or a house in the enclosure, so they do not have to choose.
Plush is meant for a dry place. Outdoors it can get damp, and a wet basket is not pleasant for your pet. So use it indoors or in a spot where it is sure to stay dry.
Take out the cushion and shake out the basket and cushion well. Brush away hair and bits of hay. Let the basket stay properly dry and put it back in a clean spot.
