A sleeping spot with a shape of its own: the Duvo+ Carrot plush hanging triangle is a soft, triangular hanging spot with a cheerful carrot design. Your pet lies snugly in it, a little above the floor, and can calmly follow what is going on in the enclosure from there. That gives a cosy nesting feeling, while your pet still keeps an overview.
Rodents like to change sleeping spots. Sometimes they lie tucked away deep inside, other times high up with a view. A hanging triangle gives them an extra choice. For rats and mice, which are good climbers, it is a fun spot to scramble up to. That makes the enclosure more varied and keeps your pet active and curious.
The hanging triangle is easy to hang in any enclosure. Try it at different heights to see what your pet likes best. For gerbils, hang it low, because they climb less than rats and mice. Make sure your pet can get in and out easily, for example via a shelf or the bars, and that there is a soft layer of bedding under the hanging spot.
At 24.5 × 17 × 13.5 cm, the hanging triangle suits one rat or a few mice or gerbils together. A large rat will lie curled up in it. Degus can use it as well, but they chew a lot. So with degus, keep an extra close eye on the fabric. If you have a group of animals, hang up several sleeping spots, so nobody has to wait.
Plush is soft, but not for chewing. So check that your pet does not chew the fabric or swallow bits of it, and remove the hanging triangle if you see that. Also check regularly for loose threads. Put a fresh layer of Zooply bedding for gerbils or for degus under the hanging spot, so the whole enclosure stays clean.
For one rat, yes. A rat lies curled up in it, with its back against the side. For several rats at once, a large hammock or a hanging bed is more practical.
You can, if there is enough room in that corner. Above all, make sure your pet can reach it easily and that the triangle hangs securely. Feel free to try a few spots.
Yes, but hang it low, just above the bedding. Gerbils are mainly diggers and climb less than rats or mice. That way they can get in and out easily.
Take it out of the enclosure, shake it out and brush off loose hair. Keep it dry and check straight away for loose threads.
Yes, that is actually fun. Combine the hanging triangle with a hammock or hanging tunnel from the same Carrot series at different heights. That gives your pet more choice of where to sleep.
At 't Knaagplein in Bodegraven, a shop specialising in rodents and rabbits, we look at the animal's behaviour with every accessory. An extra hanging spot suits animals that like changing sleeping spots. We only choose what we consider suitable ourselves. Combine it with Zooply, our own brand, for bedding and nesting material.
