A roll of mountain meadow hay with marigold, peppermint and rose flowers. For sniffing through and nibbling on, made for small rodents. Read more.
The Esve Lenterol (spring roll) is a toy and a treat in one. This small version is 20 cm. It is made of mountain meadow hay with marigold flowers, peppermint plant and rose flowers, around a cardboard core. According to Esve the roll is made from natural materials without artificial adhesives.
Small rodents such as hamsters, gerbils, mice and rats are always looking for something to do. This roll gives them a job. They pull out the hay, look for the flowers and finally gnaw the cardboard to pieces as well. Gerbils and hamsters carry bits off to their nest, which is all part of it.
The composition contains no fruit or added sugar. That makes the roll suitable for degus and dwarf hamsters too, which are sensitive to sugar. It is a complementary feed, though: give it as an extra alongside the regular food, not instead of it.
Place the roll in a dry spot in the enclosure, for example on the bedding next to a hideout. Once the roll is almost eaten bare, replace it with a new one.
Yes, the cardboard is part of the roll and may be gnawed to pieces. Many small rodents use the shreds in their nest.
According to the composition the roll contains only hay, flowers, herbs and cardboard, without fruit or sugar, so it suits degus. Give it as an extra alongside hay and degu food.
That depends on the animal. A group of rats gets through it faster than a single dwarf hamster. Replace the roll when it is almost bare.
