Selective Rabbit Botanical is a rabbit nugget from the Selective Botanical range. Like the other Selective foods, it is pressed: all ingredients are combined in one nugget. Your rabbit therefore cannot pick out the tasty bits and leave the rest.
Why does that matter? With a mixed food of loose grains, seeds and pellets, many rabbits only eat what they like best. Often those are the sweet or fatty parts. They then miss out on nutrients and gain weight more easily. A pressed nugget prevents this problem.
See the nuggets as a small part of the diet. A rabbit's main food is unlimited fresh hay. Chewing hay wears down the teeth, which grow throughout life, and keeps the digestion going. Put the hay in a hay rack so it stays clean and dry. Also offer fresh greens daily and always clean water. The daily amount of nuggets is stated on the bag.
Want to give your rabbit more variety? Scatter a few nuggets in the run or hide them in the hay. Rabbits like searching for food and stay busy for longer. Introduce this food gradually by mixing it into the current food over one to two weeks.
