Treat from the Selective Care range, focused on vitamin C. An extra next to hay and pellets, not a replacement for veterinary care. Read more.
Selective Vit C Care is a treat from the Selective Care range, focused on vitamin C. It is a supplementary extra next to the regular diet. The composition and feeding advice are on the packaging. Always check them before you start.
Vitamin C is especially important for guinea pigs. They cannot produce it themselves and need it from their food every day. Guinea pig nuggets with vitamin C and fresh vegetables such as bell pepper every day form the basis. A treat from this range can be an extra on top. The exact vitamin C content is stated on the packaging.
Keep the amount small so there is plenty of room for hay. That is the most important food for both rabbits and guinea pigs. Also give a little pellet food and always fresh water. If your guinea pig eats poorly or becomes lethargic, see a vet with guinea pig experience. A treat will not solve that.
Do not rely on it. Give your guinea pig food with vitamin C and fresh vegetables such as bell pepper every day. If you are unsure whether your guinea pig gets enough, talk to a vet with guinea pig experience.
Rabbits produce vitamin C themselves. For them, this is simply an occasional treat.
Follow the feeding advice on the packaging.
Dry, cool and well closed.
