Holder for Back Zoo Nature fruit cups, made of resin and plastic with a natural stone look. Your pet cannot knock the cup over. Approx. 10 x 6 x 3.5 cm. Read more.
Anyone who has ever given a fruit cup to a rat knows how it goes. The cup is grabbed, turned upside down and dragged off to the hideout. Then the treat ends up spread through the bedding. The Fruit cup holder Stone prevents that. It is a holder that the Back Zoo Nature fruit cups fit into. Your pet can no longer knock the cup over and simply eats it where you put it. That keeps both the cup and the enclosure clean.
The holder is made of resin and plastic, with a natural look that resembles stone. The colour is brown and grey. In a naturally furnished enclosure with wood, cork and moss, it blends in nicely. The material makes the holder easy to clean. It measures approx. 10 x 6 x 3.5 cm, so it is small and fits on the floor, on a level or on a shelf.
Back Zoo Nature made the holder for birds and rodents. At Knaagplaza we recommend it for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice and gerbils, just like the fruit cups themselves. Place the holder on a flat, stable spot so it cannot wobble. For rats a level works well, for hamsters, mice and gerbils a spot on the floor that is easy to reach. For rabbits and guinea pigs, stand the holder firmly on the floor of the hutch or run, on a flat spot. Choose a place away from the toilet corner. Want to make it extra fun? Put the holder in a different spot each time, so your pet has to search for it first.
A fruit cup is a treat, not a main meal. Give one now and then, next to the regular food. For rabbits and guinea pigs, hay remains the basis. For other treats, have a look at the Zooply snacks for rats and the Zooply snacks for hamsters. For rabbits and guinea pigs, have a look at our rabbits and guinea pigs sections. Do not give fruit cups to degus, as they are sensitive to sugar. Dwarf hamsters are also sensitive to sugar. Give them very little, or preferably none. Remove an empty or half-eaten cup the same day, especially with hamsters that like to build a food store.
Rodents gnaw on almost anything, including resin and plastic. So keep an eye on what your pet does with the holder. If you see it gnawing on it, remove the holder as soon as the cup is finished. Clean it after use with warm water and a brush or cloth, and let it dry well. Check now and then for damage or sharp edges, and replace the holder when needed.
