Holder made of resin and plastic with a natural bark look, approx. Ø 5 x 3 cm. Keeps a fruit cup in place for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice and gerbils. Read more.
Anyone who keeps rats or hamsters knows they move everything around. A loose bowl gets picked up, knocked over or dragged to the nest. With a fruit cup that usually means a sticky floor. The Fruit cup holder bark prevents that. It is a small holder made especially for the fruit cups of Back Zoo Nature. The cup sits firmly inside, so your pet cannot knock it over. That keeps both the cup and the enclosure clean, and your pet can eat in peace.
The holder is made of resin and plastic, with a natural look that resembles a piece of bark. That way it blends nicely into a naturally decorated enclosure, between wood, cork and moss. The material is smooth and easy to clean. After a fruit cup, rinse it off and it is ready to use again. The fruit cups themselves are a separate product.
The holder measures about Ø 5 x 3 cm. Back Zoo Nature describes it as suitable for rodent enclosures. We recommend it for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice and gerbils. A fruit cup is not suitable for degus, because degus must not have sugar. Dwarf hamsters are also sensitive to sugar. Give them very little, or preferably none. For all these animals: a fruit cup is a treat. Give it now and then, and never instead of the regular food. For rabbits and guinea pigs, hay remains the basis.
Place the holder on a flat spot in the enclosure, for example on a level or a sturdy platform, so it does not sink into the bedding. For rats, a level works well. With hamsters, place it where you can reach it easily without disturbing the nest. For mice and gerbils, put it firmly on the floor or on a shelf, on a flat spot they can easily reach. For rabbits and guinea pigs, stand the holder firmly on the floor of the hutch or run, on a flat spot. Remove it as soon as the cup is finished. A fruit cup is also a nice moment to let your pet get used to your presence. Put it down while you stay calmly nearby. Alternate with other snacks, such as Zooply snacks for rats or Zooply snacks for hamsters, so a fruit cup stays something special. Remove a fruit cup when it is empty or when your pet no longer eats from it. Do not leave leftovers for too long, because fruit can spoil. Rinse the holder with warm water and let it dry thoroughly. Rodents love to gnaw, including on things that are not meant for it. So check the holder regularly. If you see gnaw marks, remove it between treats, so your pet does not swallow bits of plastic.
