Über Paper Bedding Confetti is paper bedding in a mix of cheerful colours. It instantly brightens up the enclosure of your hamster, gerbil, mouse or degu. The bale holds 36 litres. Paper is soft, which makes it pleasant to burrow in and make a little den.
Hamsters and gerbils are true diggers. In the wild they live in tunnel systems underground. So give them a thick layer of bedding of at least about 20 centimetres. Mix in some hay or straw. That gives the layer more stability, so the tunnels do not collapse easily. An enclosure with a deep base stops everything being thrown out.
Degus are active during the day and mainly use the bedding to forage. Keep in mind that degus gnaw everything. So house them in an enclosure made of metal or glass. Now and then hide some sugar-free herbs in the bedding to keep them busy.
That depends on the floor area. A floor of 100 by 50 centimetres with a 20 centimetre layer takes about 100 litres of bedding. That is roughly three bales.
